MIFA’s Something Good in Memphis campaign is designed to celebrate those who make Memphis better, whether it’s the stranger who helps change your flat tire in the rain or a human services pioneer who changes the lives of a hundred poor Memphians. Sometimes people tend to focus on the bad and forget the good, but we see reminders of the good in Memphis every day!

Christian Kauffman and Cort Gatliff are doing something special this spring. These two MUS students are on day 21 of a cross-country bike ride to raise money for Living Water. The money raised by this project will go towards building wells in Haiti to help bring clean water to those that don't have it. Follow their journey on their blog ( link ). On February 27th over 330 members of Fullview Missionary Baptist Church and Fayette-Ware Comprehensive High School conducted a “Freedom Ride” by performing community service and giving over $5,000 to local charities. Pastor Walter and Rev. Wilma Peggs passed up the traditional money gifts on their anniversary and instead used it to help change the community. The women of the Junior League of Memphis are truly Something Good in Memphis. They work hard to make this a better community. "The Junior League of Memphis has started, coordinated, or contributed to many of Memphis' most worthwhile organizations. The number of community projects the Junior League of Memphis has been involved in over the years totals in the hundreds. We support a variety of needs, primarily those that benefit women and children in need.

"I just read an article in The Commercial Appeal ( link ) about Dodger, the canine officer of the Shelby County Sheriff's Office, and I knew that he should be recognized as Something Good in Memphis.
