MIFA’s Something Good in Memphis campaign is designed to celebrate those who make Memphis better, whether it’s the stranger who helps change your flat tire in the rain or a human services pioneer who changes the lives of a hundred poor Memphians. Sometimes people tend to focus on the bad and forget the good, but we see reminders of the good in Memphis every day!

 

Nominating is quick and easy – just fill out our simple form! Nominate friends, neighbors,and colleagues whose daily efforts or remarkable deeds embody the spirit of positive action in our community.Thank you for being a part of the good in Memphis!

Shun & Mary Abram make a difference in Binghampton!

Shun and Mary have made a difference in the Binghampton community by starting Binghampton Community Church. They are trying to bring a message of peace and share the good word with others. Pastor Walter and Rev. Wilma Peggs and their congregation at Fullview are Something Good!

On February 27th over 330 members of Fullview Missionary Baptist Church and Fayette-Ware Comprehensive High School conducted a “Freedom Ride” by performing community service and giving over $5,000 to local charities. Pastor Walter and Rev. Wilma Peggs passed up the traditional money gifts on their anniversary and instead used it to help change the community. She put her inner passion to work by forming a Christian Sorority/ mentoring group called D.O.V.E.S. (Daughters of Virtue Exalting the Savior). The Okeon AZA youth group gave toys for the holidays

Bev Tucker stays busy helping others

Bev stays busy helping others. She is a leader in Community Bible Study, which involves easily 8 hrs. a week. She also knits caps and takes them to the West Clinic every other week to personally give to patients in need of one. Pam Stokes gives generously

Pam gives generously of her time, talent, energy, and enthusiasm in so many ways in our community. She coordinates MIFA's Love Caps program, which, in partnership with First Baptist Church, provides over 3,000 handmade caps and lap robes to MIFA clients every year.
