MIFA’s Something Good in Memphis campaign is designed to celebrate those who make Memphis better, whether it’s the stranger who helps change your flat tire in the rain or a human services pioneer who changes the lives of a hundred poor Memphians. Sometimes people tend to focus on the bad and forget the good, but we see reminders of the good in Memphis every day!

 

Nominating is quick and easy – just fill out our simple form! Nominate friends, neighbors,and colleagues whose daily efforts or remarkable deeds embody the spirit of positive action in our community.Thank you for being a part of the good in Memphis!

Pastor Walter and Rev. Wilma Peggs and their congregation at Fullview are Something Good!

On February 27th over 330 members of Fullview Missionary Baptist Church and Fayette-Ware Comprehensive High School conducted a “Freedom Ride” by performing community service and giving over $5,000 to local charities. Pastor Walter and Rev. Wilma Peggs passed up the traditional money gifts on their anniversary and instead used it to help change the community. "Wendy is a MIFA Volunteer Long-Term Care Ombudsman at Court Manor Nursing Center in Memphis. In December, Wendy arranged with her co-workers at Mid-South Transplant Foundation to sponsor a Christmas party for Court Manor residents. Pam Stokes gives generously

Pam gives generously of her time, talent, energy, and enthusiasm in so many ways in our community. She coordinates MIFA's Love Caps program, which, in partnership with First Baptist Church, provides over 3,000 handmade caps and lap robes to MIFA clients every year. Chester Brooks is something good at ADS!

Chester Brooks has been a faithful volunteer at Alzheimer's Day Services of Memphis (ADS) for the last 5 years. He shows nothing but compassion and concern, and he embodies the gentle in gentleman, crucial traits when working with participants such as ours.
